14 types of videos you can create to promote your business

You already know video works, the hard part is deciding what to make. Here are 14 formats that pull their weight, with a note on when each is the right call.

Hands holding a film clapperboard on location

You don't need all fourteen. Most businesses start with a brand video, one or two explainers, and a steady trickle of testimonials and social shorts. Some of these you can shoot on a phone; others are better filmed properly or produced as graphic or avatar video. We produce all of them (some filmed, some with AI) with a person reviewing every one.

  1. Brand / about video. A 60–90 second introduction to who you are and who you help, usually the first video a business needs.
  2. Explainer video. Makes a product, service or process easy to understand in under two minutes.
  3. Product demo. Shows the thing working, with the specific outcomes a buyer cares about.
  4. Customer testimonial. A real client, in their own words, the highest-trust video you can publish.
  5. Case study video. The problem, what you did, and the measurable result.
  6. FAQ / objection video. One short video per common question removes friction before the sales call.
  7. How-to / educational video. Teaches something useful and earns search and social visibility.
  8. Interview-style video. A conversation with a founder, expert or customer, easy to film, rich in substance.
  9. Presentation / slide video. Turns a deck or webinar into an evergreen asset with a voiceover.
  10. Graphic / motion video. Fully designed animation for concepts that are hard to film.
  11. Avatar / presenter video. An AI or on-screen presenter delivers a script, fast to produce and update.
  12. Social short (Reels / Shorts / TikTok). Vertical, punchy, built for the feed and for reach.
  13. Event / behind-the-scenes video. Culture and credibility, useful for recruiting and trust.
  14. Personalised / outreach video. A short one-to-one video in a sales or follow-up message lifts reply rates.

Where to start

Pick the one video that would remove the most friction from your current sales conversations, usually a brand video or a single strong explainer, and make that well before adding formats. Then build a repeatable habit for the cheap, high-frequency ones (testimonials, FAQ answers, social shorts) so your library grows without a production every time.
